This was once the most popular coaster in the UK and is still one of the most worshiped coasters at Blackpool. The most noticeable thing about this coaster having fame thrown around Britain is that sometimes many people will refer to coasters as Big Dippers.

Anyway back to reviewing the ride. The ride built in 1912 I believe still is a much better ride than say the Pepsi Max Big One. What you say well I'll tell you this is one of the most airtime packed and fear packed coasters in the park. Anyway altough I say constructed in 1912 I mean constructed. I mean it has been supposedly extended which I beleive was a waste of time but it was pre me from back in the 1940's. Then there was a fire on the ride in the late 40's and another in the 70's leaving not one piece of this coaster left to be origional.

The ride starts slowly and jams through quite a tight tunnel which smells badly of smoke and that proves the fire many years before. Then up we go from the first chain straight under the second. Then wow a tight bend to the left is a real head chopper as it dips right into the above chain. Then there is a great view of the Log Flume and big one until we turn around and decent of the lift. Then at the top you can see straight towards the Blackpool tower and the rest of the North Pleasure Beach. Then round a turn and in the back seat there is a very sudden accelaration as it dips down the first drop. This seems a very steep drop even though it is at a degrees less than vertical. At the bottom the train starts to really rattle and then up again over the top of the IG DIPPER sign which has had the D missing for many years. Then here comes airtime heaven. Not for long as it zooms once more down the second drop causing a lot of screams from the ladies . Then here comes the greatest part of the ride. Up once more than straight down a very steep looking side ways drop. Up and over the South Entrance we go and down a fairly sharp helix left. Then a load of ducks and dips underneath the Parks famous Steeple Chase coaster. Then back to the South Entrance where it seems like you're going to crash straight into when whush. Down under the Entrance which is an unexpectadly large drop! Great for a first timer. Then back to the Second drop where there are I think 3 bunny hops into the station.

Overall 9/10

1912 huh. Thats nearly as old as the scenic railway.

We have a small simulator thing at our shopping mall (u know, like the helicopter that go up and down) and they have a rollercoaster thing. U can ride pepsi Max or Big dipper. I havn't gone on it becoz ur meant to be 3-6 years. Plus i can't fit in it.

Also I think I made a mistake on the dates here. It was 1921 not 1912. I'm sure Luke_manc will correct me here...

Well 2 years off can't be bad, and most of the ride is way younger than that anyway.
