I was just thinking the other night about what coasters were the first to break certian barriers and so on. These were the ones I thought of:

Batman the ride: Virst inverting suspended coaster

Corkscrew: First sucessful inversion

Mine Train: First mine train
X: First 4D coaster
Air: First flying coaster
Stealth: First lay down coaster
Medusa: First floorless
Outer Limits: First magnetic launch
