PleasureLand Southport to close! (Confirmed)

It is strongly rumoured, that Pleasure Land Southport, will be closing for good, due to under performance. Basically, they're not making enough money.
Mr. Splash

Well sadly I can see this happening to many UK Parks in the following years. Lightwater Valley, American Adventure and Southport. It doesn't surprise me that this park should close, I mean it is getting very run down and many things are almost beyond a revamp.
Guest

I am visiting this park later this year. I will try and take some photos then. Camelot is also closing this year, if it hasn't closed already.
Mr. Splash

I've almost forgotten Camelot now, which is why the parks going down. It will be a shame but I think the parks just about seen the last of it. Southport's Cyclone is beginning to get in a very bad condition, so I hope Amanda (Current Pleasure Beach owner), see's sense on revamping the ride, or I guarantee ACE will butt in!
Guest

Well, if the park closes, Traumatizer and four other rides, will be moved to Blackpool. It has been rumoured for a long time, that Traumatizer will come to the park as a replacement to the Log Flume or Vikingar.
Mr. Splash

Won't happen because it can't happen. Traumatizer does look quite a small ride at Southport, but in the clustered up Pleasure Beach it just won't fit amongst the other rides.
Guest

I am sure the Pleasure Beach would find a way.
Mr. Splash

Well without ripping out the car park at the North Entrance I don't see any other way its possible to fit the ride in, unless they build it in a pit

But I don't think they'd want to rip out the car park. I think IF the park closes they will sell most of their rides off and get some cash.
Guest

We'll just have to see. I have heard rumours though, that the North car park, could be used for a new casino, and the Vikingar site could be used for a staff restaurant. Anyway, bacon onto Pleasure Land. I have heard, that Amanda has never like that park anyway. I would imagine though, that they must have a separate MD for Pleasure Land, because Amanda would be busy with PBB.
Mr. Splash

Well like I say I can definitely see the park closing but not Traumatizer coming. I would like to see King Solemons mine replace the Wild Mouse though
Guest

Never heard of it. I would like to see, the Fun House, come to PBB, although impossible.
Mr. Splash

Sorry I spelt the name wrong:

King Solomon's Mines

This is an exact copy of the Blackpool Mouse but a much better ride in my opinion thanks to the cars
Guest

Maybe, Blackpool should buy another 42 hectares, and move all of Pleasure Land Southport's rides on there. lol
Mr. Splash

I'm sure they would if they could Also I think they could possibly move the Fun House
Guest

How, it's a proper building?
Mr. Splash

Well I don't mean the entire building, but some of the attractions could be moved.
Guest

True. That's one of the reasons I am looking forward to going there. Because of the fun house. I wish PBB still had one.
Mr. Splash

I dunno I think Valhalla was a good replacement for the Fun House
Guest

They could have built Valhalla somewhere else. Like on the site of Space Invader, the maze, south Cableway and Whip
Mr. Splash

Yeah but because the Fun House burned down so they had to replace it. Cable way, the maze, space invader and the whip are way way to small sites for Valhalla!
Guest

All of them together I meant. Knock them all down, and build it there.
Mr. Splash

Still Whip isn't near either to make a difference. Space Invader and Cable way put together are no where near the size of Valhalla
oz boy

I have to butt in here.

As if Traumatizer will move to BPPB.

As if the fun house will move.

As if BPPB will want any of the rides there.

Mr. Splash

I have to say this is the most realistic post in the entire topic
Guest

Well, PBB do own the rides at PLS, so will probably want some of the good ones. I.E coasters.
Mr. Splash

Well Cyclone couldn't fit, Traumatizer is crap and also wouldn't fit, and they already have a wild mouse, an exact copy infact.
Guest

Belive me, PBB would make sapce.
Mr. Splash

I'm sorry I won't believe you because it can't happen. Without demolishing more than 3 major rides which would be stupid.
Guest

The North Car Park or the Log Flume site. And who says, they can't built on top of other attractions. PBB always find a way.
Mr. Splash

North Car park needed. Log Flume area too small. Anyway there is still no definite decision that the park will close yet so lets not jump to conclusions.
Guest

Well, the North Car Park is rumoured to be going anyway.

Do we even have a source for this? Screamscape has no record of it, and they no of attempted kidnappings in parks!
Guest

Well, as I have said before, I have spoken to insiders.
Mr. Splash

Doesn't always mean its true though. You could go up to the boss of Disney and ask if it will shut down, and even if he says no, doesn't mean it won't happen
Guest

I know, but I have heard this off so many people.
Mr. Splash

Like I said before it doesn't matter what everyone says, its still only a 50% chance. Anyway I have the feeling someone would take over Southport if it was to close.
Guest

Yes. I rekon it will go, and they will concentrate on PBB.
oz boy

I think it will be taken over by tussauds or a group like that, rides sold to poor little parks in Argentina, and a completely new park will be built.

That is if this park is actually shut down.
Mr. Splash

I don't think Tussards would be too bothered about it. I mean have you seen it all. Its really run down!
Guest

I think if it closes, it will just be abandoned like Frontierland.
Mr. Splash

Most likely. I think Cyclone is listed though so it is more likely to end up like Dreamland
Guest

They'll probably just leave it to rot.
Mr. Splash

What do you mean leave it too it already is

Anyway if this park closes then there isn't much hope for Rhyl!
oz boy

Luna park is rundown, has useless rides and Scenic Railway isn't in great shape,

But i don't rumour it to close just because it isn't very good quality!
Mr. Splash

It mainly depends on if the parks doing well. Blackpool's doing well and they own the park. So if they just leave this place in the state its in, it shows they don't really care.
oz boy

Since it has closed, this thread is now officially locked.
