Mr. Splash
Thats just stupid!
oz boy
Yeah, your right.
How about "Three-Way Figure Eight Roller Toboggan" , a removed ride from Cedar Point?
Mr. Splash
Whatta mouthful!
oz boy
yeah, people that time would go to each other 'how cool is Three-Way Figure Eight Roller Toboggan!' unlike now days, when they say 'how good was kingda ka!'
if Kingda Ka was back then, it'd be called something like 'very tall launched bobsled rollercoaster with extra drop'

to the max!
Mr. Splash
Imagine what Collosuss would be at Thorpe Park!
oz boy

Not as good.
Mr. Splash

Mr. Splash

oz boy

Mr. Splash
Well lets see they named a high speed coaster after an old ladies name so yeah its strange
oz boy
didn't think of it like that.
Mr. Splash

dude, it rolls and it coasts - Does exactly what it says on the tin...
Mr. Splash

Which is exactly my point. Its boaring. If you called Tizer, fizzy red water, it would sound boaring.

It was named Rollercoaster in 1933 and it's legacy has survived this long.
It's a great name for a great type of ride.

I'm not just talking about the Roller Coaster at Blackpool. There are plenty of modern steel coaster called Roller Coaster. And it is just a boaring name, not to mention common. :?

I see where you're coming from but you have to look at the bogger picture:
That type of ride was common back then and there doesn't seem to be a need to change it.
Mr. Splash
I'm guessing you mean bigger picture
Like I say I'm not just talking about the old woodies. I'm talking about any ride called Roller Coaster.
There are 74 rides named Roller Coaster...

Yes, I did mean BIGGER picture and yes there are a lot of rides called Roller Coaster as that is the generic term for a ride of that ilk.
Unless it's extra special in it's ride or appearance then why change it?
oz boy
Hey, the oldest coaster in the world is Scenic railway! They didn't call t rollercoaster!
Mr. Splash
I never meant we had to change the name of anything. All I'm saying is the name has become boaring over the years because of its vast useage

Space Invader 2 at PBB. It is hardly a hardly space themed, in fact, it is hardly themed. The name makes the ride sound exciting, but it isn't.

There is this thing that is known as an instant spell checker. Use it!
Also I think Space Invader is quite a good name. Its not about the ride, just its name.
oz boy
Yeah, Space Invader is a good name.
Mr. Splash

Mind you Tetris wouldn't make a good name
